SPICYCLE SPICEAGE MODELMAKER PROJECTS PRICES

Transistor Amplifier

This fairly basic common emitter amplifier circuit allows SpiceAge to demonstrate its ability to model semiconductors far more efficiently than standard SPICE code. In this example, junction capacitances and Early voltages make little or no difference to the final result, so you can elect to omit them by using one of the simple transistor models - the result is a circuit which analyses several times faster than its SPICE equivalent. SpiceAge affords several philosophies regarding modelling, including ModelMaker, a small application which generates semiconductor models from data sheet information.

This example clearly shows a quiescent voltage of about 7V and an ouptut which is driven from saturation into cut off by an overly large input signal.

SpiceAge can use Fourier Analysis to examine the harmonics present in such a signal.
