SpiceAge comes with a set of library models for a range of components and devices. The high power end of the electronic spectrum has been catered for by the inclusion of TRIAC and THYRISTOR device models.
In the above network, two pulse generators have been placed in series to generate a bidirectional gate pulse stream (see the green trace on the graph). The firing angle is gradually reduced as the analysis progresses giving a steadily increasing conduction angle. The red trace represents the load voltage, whereas the blue trace plots the voltage across the triac.
