For those who still get hot under the collar about thermionic emission, and those who prefer the softer distortion produced by glass bottles, we have provided the facility to model thermionic valves.

The simulation sweeps the grid battery voltage through 10 steps whilst applying a ramp voltage to the anode at each step. Note that SpiceAge valves do not require heaters! The demonstration circuit uses polynomials to relate grid voltage to anode current, judge for yourself how realistic the anode characteristics are.
